Chana Sundal (salad)

Hope everyone will be having sundal for this navarathiri. This is a little different version of sundal, a type of salad with tempering.

Ingredients:

  • Chana (soaked overnite, boiled, strained) - 1 cup
  • Mustard - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Urad dhal - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 5
  • Coconut grated - 1 tbsp

For dressing:

  • Lemon juice - 2 tbsp
  • Sugar - 2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
  • Green Chilly paste - 1
  • Ginger paste- 1 tbsp

Method:

Boil chana with salt. Combine all the ingredients given for dressing. Mix the dressing with chana, cover and chill for an hour.

Heat 1 tbsp of oil and add mustard seeds, urad dhal, hing and curry leaves. Pour over the chana. Garnish with coconut and coriander leaves.
