Cucumber morkuzhambu

When it comes to morkuzhambu, you can add any type of watery vegetables. This sour and spicy gravy tempered with spices goes well with any fry or parupu usli.


Ingredients:
  • Cucumber - 1
  • Curd - 2 cups

To grind:

  • Coriander seeds - 2 tbsp
  • Red chilly - 2
  • Green chilly - 2
  • Raw rice - 1 tsp
  • Toor dal - 1 tbsp
  • Coconut - 1/4 cup

To Seasoning:

  • Mustard - 1tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilly - 1
  • Curry leaves - 5

Method:

Soak the ingredients given to grind in water except coconut for 20 mins. Then grind soaked ingredient with coconut into a fine paste.

Whisk the curd gently with salt and turmeric, add the ground paste and mix. Keep aside. Chop the cucumber into big pieces. Cook the cucumber with little water and salt. After few minutes add the curd mixture. Let it boil for 5 mins in a medium flame. Switch it off.

For seasoning, add a tbsp of oil and all the ingredients given for seasoning in the same order and add in the gravy. Add coriander leaves and serve.

i tried this receipe at home it was so good , usally v use ladies finger and other veg for this but cucumber is really good ..thanz for ur idea....... Ramya
