Parupu podi tastes very nice with hot rice and a dollop of ghee. There are many varieties too. Usually many do with toor dal and pepper combo. I love this roasted gram with garlic, tastes and smells so good. A very simple and easy to do recipe.
Ingredients:
Method:
Heat the wok, dry roast the roasted gram dal for 5 minutes or till the gram is lightly hot. Transfer in a plate to cool. Dry roast the red chilly for 5 minutes in a medium flame.
In a blender, first grind red chilly to powder then add roasted gram and grind finely. Finally add salt and garlic and give a nice blend. After adding garlic you can see the red color comes out.
Note:
Ingredients:
- Roasted gram dal (pootukadalai) - 1 cup
- Garlic - 10 cloves
- Red chilly - 1/4 cup
- Salt - as per taste

- When adding salt, it should be little more. So that when you mix with rice it would be perfect.
